I know the calendar tells me there are three full weeks of summer left, but in my mind, autumn has always begun on the first day of September. Even the weather seems to notice the the significance of the date. After an unusually hot summer, there has been a sudden change in the air and as I sit here, I can feel a distinctly cool breeze blowing in through the window behind me and I can hear the leaves rustling on the trees outside. I'm now on alert for colour change and falling leaves. And ripening pumpkins.
It won't be long now.
